Arrival at Ataturk airport I chose to take the Havabus to the Aksaray neighborhood and from there a taxi to the hotel that was in the sultanahmet neighborhood, the tourist neighborhood par excellence. It is a very lively area, with several nearby avenues, I walked to the Grand Bazaar, about 8 blocks, looking at all the quaint tourist businesses along the way. All is flashy, colorful, loud and dynamic. Impossible not to be tempted to buy trinkets!

When I returned from the bazaar it was 8:00 p.m. and it was already dark, the square with its great fountain was full of colored lights and Hagia Sophia and the Mosque with incredible lighting.
